On the Floor was created in 2012 as the main movie production club of the Division of Media Studies. Since the division does not have a major dedicated to film, the club was created to allow students with a deep interest in film and movie production to satisfy their curiosity. All freshmen or sophomores in the Division of Communication and Media are welcome to join. Members take part in various forms of movie appreciation and discussion, create their own short films through simple workshops, and give and receive feedback on their work. Each school holiday, members produce their own short film, with all planning, scenario writing, casting, filming, and editing taking place within the club itself.
