EwhaTV is a specialized online broadcasting station run by the students of Ewha Womans University’s Division of Communication and Media. The students play an active part in all steps of the process, from planning to production and broadcasting. The original 28 members first gathered on March 24, 2001; after around eight months of preparation, they aired their first broadcast on November 9, 2001. Currently run by 24 members, the station operates four channels: (1) a news channel, Unian (University + Woman); (2) a free video jockey channel, 6gam; (3) an entertainment channel, EnJoy (Entertainment + Joy); and (4) an advertising channel, AdPle (Advertisement + People). EwhaTV provides a platform on which to communicate the views of women and university students through two-way Internet broadcasts.
