Q :
Who can apply for the Korean Teacher Training Program?
A : Koreans and overseas Koreans planning to pursue their career in Korean education or interested in Korean education with at least a high school diploma or with a qualification equivalent to that level of education.
For foreigners who satisfy one of the qualifications mentioned below also could register:
1. Already obtained TOPIK level 6 can attend to this class.
2. Completed the level 6 intensive course in the Korean Language Center in Korea
3. Graduated and earned a degree related to Korean/Korean education in other countries.
4. Graduated and earned a bachelor's degree in Korea

Q :
When can I apply for the course?
A : Korean Teacher Training Program of Ewha Language Center is currently offered in summer and winter. You can refer to the annual schedule in the homepage to check the detailed schedule for student recruitment.

Q :
Can I take the course online?
A : Ewha Womans University currently does not offer online courses for Korean Teacher Training Program. Only off-line courses are available, where you must be present for the class.
However, some of the offline classes are porvided with a lecture re-listening service in the cyber campus.
Kindly note that, if you take a lecture online in the cyber campus, it will not be accepted as an attendance.

How much is the tuition fee?
A : Tuition fee is 1,515,000KRW(application fee of 30,000KRW and textbook cost included).
※ 20% discount is offered to:
1. Ewha alumni and enrolled students
2. School personnel retired from Ewha and Ewha faculty members
3. Students who has completed Level 6 from Ewha Language Center

Q :
What kind of text book is used?
A : A textbook produced at Ewha Language Center is used. There is no extra charge for the textbook, and the textbook will be given out on the first day of class.

Are there incentives for the best-performers?
A : According to the result of the integrated examination conducted at the end of each semester, a certificate of merit and certain prizes will be awarded in recognition to outstanding performance for the best-performer.

Q :
What are the requirements for completing the program?
A : The standard for completion is based on the result of assessment. Students will be granted a certificate of completion issued by the president of Ewha Womans University if they have been present for at least 85% of total class days and have achieved the grade of at least 60 for the integrated examination. If a student fails to take the examination or scores less than 60 for the exam, the student cannot complete the program.

Q :
How can I obtain the License for Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language?
A : For those who did not major in Korean language education, applying for the License for Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language level 3 will be possible after completing the Korean Teacher Language Program of at least 120 hours and passing the Test of Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language (test will be conducted annually).

How can I apply for the certificate of completion needed to apply for the license level 3 after passing the Test of Teaching Korean as a Foreign Langu
A : If you wish to get the certificate of completion issued to apply for the license for teaching Korean as a foreign language, you must apply for the issuance of certificate in advance which costs 1,000KRW and then personally visit the ELC office to pick up the document when it is ready (Ewha-Samsung Education Culture Building #203).

Q :
I did not take enough hours of class(120hours) for the program because I took the program before 2005. Do I need to take the training program again?
A : In case you have taken or registered for the training program before the execution of Korean Language Standard Law (2005 July 28), your completion may be acknowledged through the evaluation by the Evaluation Committee for Korean Teacher License. However, you can only be evaluated once you pass the Test of Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language.
