|
The necessity of mobilizing the application of mathematical science theories and the development of human resources that form the foundation for an advanced science |
|
Objective
|
· Expanding applications through mobilizing mathematical science and mathematical computation research
· Contributing to the development of advanced science and technology through an interdisciplinary research between departments
· Cultivating advanced experts in the field of mathematical science
|
The advancement of modern computing ability and
algorithm is now understood as an indispensable requisite for investigating natural
phenomena and for the development of engineering technology. Not only are
current aeronautical design and production experiments, which have required
decades of research in the past, using computational 3-D simulations to quickly
and accurately find optimal solutions, various fields are also evolving by
using computational mathematics for their developments, such as finding genes
in human genome projects, calculating the price of derivatives in financial
engineering, developing a computational algorithm to improve efficiency in
cryptography etc. Because the development of applied computation in various
fields forms the foundation for the advancement of modern high-tech industry,
supporting the cultivation of the pertinent field of computational mathematics
is now absolutely necessary. Established with these motivations in mind, the
vision and business goal of the institute’s establishment is illustrated
through the following diagram below.
