Concentration Application and Change Period

※ Absolutely no extensions will be made on the date.

1. Overview: What's the DIS concentration?
DIS Concentrations are NOT required for graduation. However, a certificate will be conferred upon graduation to those who complete concentration requirements. The certificate is issued in the joint name of Dean and Associate Dean of DIS, Scranton College.
Students who entered in 2017 will have the opportunity to select up to TWO concentrations from the following fields:
1) International Business and Economics [BE]*
2) International Law and Diplomacy [LD]*
3) Asian Studies [AS]*

2. Concentration Decision and Change
DIS Students should submit a concentration decision application to the DIS office before the winter vacation (usually from December 1 to the mid of December) of 1st year. The students who would like to change their concentration will have just ONE opportunity to do so by submitting a petition to the DIS office.
3. Requirements
Students must complete 18 credits for each concentration to obtain a certificate. If a student select 2 concentrations, and if there are any overlapped courses between the 2 concentrations, credits from those overlapped courses will be counted toward fulfillment of both concentrations. To obtain a certificate for concentration, students must earn higher than 2.7 overall GPA.
