Quarantine & Facilities Usage Guidance for Incoming International Students (2022 Summer Semester)

Hello, this is Ewha Language Center. 


Among all incoming students from outside Korea, those who ①have completed their 2nd vaccination within 14 to 180 days or ②completed 3rd vaccination, can be exempted from self-quarantine if they can prove their vaccination history. If they cannot meet any of the criteria, they must live in quarantine for 7 days from the date of entry.


In accordance with the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act, everyone who is subject to quarantine must cooperate to protect themselves and others and prevent further spread of the virus. Violation may result in imprisonment of up to one year or a fine of up to 10 million KRW.

All students entering from outside Korea will be allowed to come to campus (including dormitory) only after completing the mandatory self-quarantine for 7 days.


1. Precautions for immigration

-  All foreigners who want to enter Korea must submit a PCR negative confirmation letter within 48 hours or a rapid antigen testing for professionals (RAT) negative confirmation letter within 24 hours of departure date to enter the country.

i.e.) If departing at 10:00A.M on May 23, 2022, a PCR negative confirmation letter tested after May 21st, 2022 or RAT negative confirmation letter tested after May 22nd, 2022 is needed.

-  In the case of those who do not meet the standard (For example, a PCR confirmation letter that has elapsed 48 hours or RAT confirmation letter that has elapsed 24 hours) or do not submit the negative confirmation letter, entry is not permitted.


2. Available Quarantine Facilities

-  Personal Residence (where students will be staying for the whole semester off-campus): Students must be able to live alone in an independent space (including toilet, kitchen, etc.).

-  Individually Reserved Facility: Students must be able to live alone in an independent space (including toilet, kitchen, etc.).

-  Facility Partnered with Ewha and Seoul Metropolitan: Students who need a place to stay in quarantine should refer to the information below and apply.

※ Restricted Facilities

     - Facilities that have shared spaces such as rooms, toilets, and kitchens

     - Multi-stay facilities shared with the public, such as hotels, motels, guest houses, etc.

1. Available for students enrolled for the 2022 Summer semester in need of a place to quarantine

2. Fees for 7 Day Quarantine:



Accommodation (7 days)

700,000 KRW


- Students can choose their preference meal

Normal Meal : 8,000 KRW per meal, Special Meal (Vegetarian & Halal) : 9,000 KRW per meal

Selection cannot be changed after reservation

-  Meals will be delivered to the rooms as students will be restricted from leaving their rooms during the quarantine period.

8,000 ~ 9,000 KRW per meal


- Airport Pick-up Service (Quarantine Taxi Fee will be depended upon the number of students sharing the taxi)

80,000 ~ 140,000 KRW

* All fees above must be paid in full, and students will be required to pay out-of-pocket.

4.  Notice for users of facility partnered with Ewha and Seoul Metropolitan

-  Write down the following university address when going through immigration and customs at the Incheon Airport: 52, Ewhayeodae-gil, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul 03760

-  When taking first COVID-19 diagnostic test at the Seodaemun Health Center, provide the address of the self-quarantine hotel (the hotel address will be sent via email after payment)
