1. Overview: What's the DIS concentration?

DIS Concentrations are NOT required for graduation. However, a certificate will be conferred upon graduation to those who complete concentration requirements, which is issued in the joint name of Dean and DIS Associate Dean of Scranton College.

Students who entered in 2009 will have the opportunity to select up the TWO concentrations from the following fields:

 1) International Business and Economics [BE]*

 2) International Law and Diplomacy [LD]

 3) Asian Studies [AC]                           * abbreviation

2. Concentration Decision and Change

DIS Students should submit the concentration decision application to the DIS office just before the winter vacation(from December 1 to the mid of December) of 1st year. And those who would like to change the concentration may have just ONE opportunity at the end of 2nd year. They should submit the petition to the DIS office.

3. Requirements

One must complete 18 credits for each concentration to obtain the certificate. If one select 2 concentrations, the overlapped courses at two concentrations will allow the credits for each of the two courses to be given toward fulfillment of concentration credits. And one must have more than overall GPA of 2.7 to obtain the certificate for concentration.
