Notice on important matters related to COVID-19 for inbound travelers from China for 2023 spring semester.

All international students entering from China* are asked to follow the guideline below regarding COVID-19.

* For those who stayed in or visited China within 7 days before arrive in Korea 

 

I

 

Before Departure

 

1. Obligation of Overseas Entrants to submit COVID-19 Negative Test result certificate
(Those without proof will not be allowed to board flight)

① Test type (Method)

 The test needs to be based on nucleic acid amplification tests (NAATs).

* A supervised Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) taken at a hospital or clinic, or DNA amplification-based PCR test (RT-PCR, LAMP, TMA, SDA or NEAR, etc) is valid.

* All forms of self-administered tests are NOT valid regardless of test type.

② Time of testing and issuance

 PCR Test: should be taken within 48 hours (two days) before the departure date.

- Supervised RAT: must be taken within 24 hours prior to the departure date.

e.g. If you are departing on May 23, 2022 at 10:00, you must submit your negative PCR test result taken after 00:00 on May 21, 2022 or a supervised negative RAT result taken after 00:00 on May 22, 2022.

 Required items

 Name*, date of birth**, test method, test date, test result, date of issuance, and name of testing center should be included in the test result.

* The name on the test result needs to be identical to the name on the passport (middle name can be omitted as long as the other names are identical)

** Passport number or national ID number is also acceptable in lieu of date of birth

④ Test result

 The test result must be NEGATIVE.

If the test result is INDETERMINATE, UNCLEAR, or POSITIVE, the result is invalid.

⑤ Language

 The test method must be written in Korean or English.

If the test method is written in a language other than Korean or English, a translated version with a certificate of translation needs to be submitted.

(If the test result was translated by an individual translator, the document needs to be certified by a notary office or Korean embassy.)

 

2. Quarantine Information Registration on Q-CODE(https://cov19ent.kdca.go.kr) (before departure)

Students are required to fill in their passport information, email address, contact information, etc. and upload their negative COVID-19 test result at https://cov19ent.kdca.go.kr to get a QR code.

 

 

 

Upon Arrival

 

Students will be asked to present their QR code (printed on a paper or a screen capture) to the quarantine officer at the airport.

 

After Entry

 

1. PCR Test Requirement within 1 Day after arrival
(test taken on the day or the next day of arrival can be accepted)

All students are required to take a PCR test on the day of arrival or on the next day of arrival at a nearby public health center. Below is information of the closest PCR testing site from Ewha campus.

  * Please stay home until you receive your result

 

2. Test Result Registration on Q-CODE(https://cov19ent.kdca.go.kr)

Students must upload their Day 1 PCR test result on Q-CODE.
