Foreign Registration

Foreign Registration (Applying for Alien Registration Card)

According to Korean law, to reside in Korea for more than 3 months, you must apply for an Alien Registration Card within 90 days of arrival in Korea. This permit is required regardless of your visa status, and it is to your advantage to obtain it as soon as possible. For further information, please visit the website of immigration office: (http://www.hikorea.go.kr)

Required Documents (In case of D-2 visa holder)

1. Application Form

2. A Copy of Passport (both Bio and Visa pages)

3. Color ID Photograph (3.5cm * 4.5cm)

4. Official Certificate of Enrollment

5. Medical Certificate - for specific nationalities only

6. Fee (30,000 KRW)

Issuance of Medical Certificate

Nationality

China, East Timor, Sri Lanka, Russia, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Nepal, Indonesia, Pakistan, Mongolia,   Bangladesh, Philippines, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Cambodia, Malaysia

Required Documents

1. ID Photo

2. Passport with valid D-2 visa

3. Fee: 300KRW

Process

1. Visit the local Community Health Center (Ewha student goes to Seodaemun Center)

2. Register for Chest X-ray check-up in the service room. Submit the documents.

3. Take the chest X-Ray Examination

4. Medical Certificate issued at least 1 day after examination

Notification of Changes in Registration Information

In the event of changes in any of the information listed below. Report the status change within 14 days from the date of change by visiting an Immigration office or filing an E-application at http://www.hikorea.go.kr/
- name, gender, date of birth, nationality, residential address in Korea, passport number, passport issue date & expiration date, school, etc.
