Welcome to Graduate School of
International Studies (GSIS) at Ewha Womans University.
Ewha GSIS was established in 1997 with a mission to train
young women as global leaders in the fields of international trade, international business, development cooperation and international relations.
Since 2001 Ewha GSIS has been recognized as the best
graduate institute of international studies in Korea since being ranked as such
by the Ministry of Education. In 2006, the Korean Studies program which was
established in 1982, joined the GSIS with two major tracks: Korean culture and
Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language. Our efforts to cultivate global leaders
and to meet the increasing global demands for Korea’s popular culture and
language also resulted in the establishment of an undergraduate program in
Global Korean Studies in 2015.
In addition, Ewha GSIS offers the Ewha-KOICA program which
trains government officials from developing countries in the fields of
development and gender. After completing the degree programs and gaining
various experiences from the research institutes and projects, graduates of
Ewha GSIS are now working in all corners of the world and in academic and
research organizations such as the United Nations, International Monetary Fund,
OECD, Republic of Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as Chulalongkorn
University, Duke University, Hong Kong University, Seoul National University,
and Yonsei University, to name a few.
Today, Ewha GSIS continues to provide excellent education,
training, and cultural experiences for future women leaders. We invite you to
join us at Ewha so that together we can build a better world and a brighter
future for all.
