Visiting Student Programs

Wesleyan College Visiting Students Program

OIA provides exchange program in which students can visit Wesleyan College in the U.S. annually. Located in Macon, Georgia, and founded in 1836, Wesleyan College has reputation as world’s top Women’s College with strong curriculum in liberal arts, the fine arts, professional field of studies and has cultivated many brilliant women who became many ‘firsts.’ OIA selects 2 students each year and send them to Wesleyan College, while adding 4 to 5 more students as well. Qualifications

Undergraduate: student who has completed more than one semester at Ewha Womans University and is attending for the purpose of credit acquirement (students on leave of absence also qualified)

Student who can study more than one semester at Ewha Womans University after the return from the program
Student with GPA higher than 3.0/4.3

English Proficiency: TOEFL IBT Score (higher than 80) / language courses before or during regular semester are recommended

Students without any record of disciplinary actions according to university regulation (academic probation does not fall into the category.) 

Students without any disqualifications for overseas travelling

※ Note:

1. Students with no prior record of exchange program participation at the respective institution takes precedent in selection, however student with past participation is also qualified to apply

2. Student with disqualification on any of above-mentioned requirement will be automatically forfeited from selection.

Application registration period: Notified on OIA online message board

Application submission at OIA ECC B334 

Announcement of selection: Notified on OIA online message board

Submittal of administrative fee receipt: Administrative fee of KRW 50,000 will be required of the selected students

Others: Separate notification will be given to students required for interview

Request form:

Request online on ‘International Affairs–On-line Program Request,’ print out the request form, attach 1 photo, and submit

TOEFL test score copy:

On-line test score record (via screen capture) can be submitted when applying, however, original hard copy is required when sending out the application (Mid-March). Test score is valid for two years, and the original record of test score will be returned to the students once comparison with photocopy is completed.

※ Note

All submitted documents will be not returned. Registration will proceed only when all the documents are submitted.

Inter-collegiate Relationship

Credits earned at East Tennessee State University will be transferred to Ewha Womans University.

The transferred credits, compiled with the credits acquired in other universities (domestic / foreign) than Ewha Womans University will be accounted and transferred within the 50% of the credits required for graduation. (Such credits will not be computed into GPA, therefore, transfer students are advised to take note)

Guidelines

Enrollment Status during the Program (Mark on the application accordingly)

- Participating while enrolled: Tuition paid to both Ewha Womans University and East Tennessee State University; both semester and credits are accounted

- Participating during leave of absence: Request for leave of absence at Ewha Womans University, tuition paid only to East Tennessee State University; only credits are accounted, not semester

Chapel credits are accounted only for students participating while enrolled.

(Student must attend minimum of 8 services within a semester and have verification of attendance.)

Student is advised maintain her grade until the time of studying abroad at East Tennessee State University.

East Tennessee State University Visiting Students Program

OIA provides exchange program in which students can visit East Tennessee State University in the U.S. Founded in 1911, East Tennessee State University has 9 colleges within, with strong curriculum in science, business management, education, and health science. To note, the university is ranked on the top tier for Health Management and Sports Marketing, OIA selects 2 students each year and send them to East Tennessee State University, while adding 5 more students during the semester, as well.
