Quarantine Guide for Incoming International Students for 2021 Intensive Program Spring Semester


Dear Students,

All incoming students from outside Korea, regardless of nationality, are subject to a mandatory 14-day quarantine beginning on the date of entry and ending at 12:00 pm of the 15th day (e.g.: arrival to Korea on February 1, quarantine ends 12:00 pm on February 15).

In accordance with the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act, everyone who is subject to quarantine must cooperate to protect themselves and others and prevent further spread of the virus. Violation may result in imprisonment of up to one year or a fine of up to 10 million KRW.

All students entering from outside Korea will be allowed to come to campus only after completing the mandatory 14 day self-quarantine.


1. Precautions for Incoming Foreigners to Korea

- As of 00:00 Friday, January 21, all foreigners entering Korea are required to submit a negative COVID-19 PCR test result obtained within 72 hours prior to their departure

- Entry to Korea will be prohibited should a student present an invalid document (e.g. PCR test result obtained before 72 hours prior to departure) or is unable to provide an official paper document.


2. Available Quarantine Facilities

- Personal Residence (where students will be staying for the whole semester off-campus): Students must be able to live alone in an independent space (including toilet, kitchen, etc.).

- Individually Reserved Facility: Students must be able to live alone in an independent space (including toilet, kitchen, etc.).

- Facility Partnered with Ewha: Students who need a place to quarantine should refer to the information below and apply.

Restricted Facilities

        - Facilities that have shared spaces such as rooms, toilets, and kitchens

        - Multi-stay facilities shared with the public, such as hotels, motels, guest houses, etc.

2. Fees for 14 Day Quarantine:



Accommodation (Arrival Date + 14 days)

-          80,000 KRW / 1 day

1,120,000 KRW

Meals(Minimum deposit, refundable later if not used)

-          20,000 KRW / 1 day

-          Meals will be delivered to the rooms as students will be restricted from leaving their rooms during the quarantine period.

280,000 KRW


-          Vehicle for Airport Pick-up & Health Center Visit for 1st COVID-19 Diagnostic Tests upon arrival

100,000 KRW

Total Fee

1,500,000 KRW

*All fees above must be paid in full, and students will be required to pay out-of-pocket.

*According to the updated government policy, students will have to submit COVID-19 diagnostic test results twice.

 - Foreign nationals of China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Cambodia, and Saudi Arabia are exempt from taking the 2ndCOVID-19 diagnostic test prior to completion of self-quarantine, and thus may complete their self-quarantine without additional COVID-19 testing (list of exempt countries subject to change).

* Students must pay out-of-pocket for transportation expenses incurred when going to the Health Center to take the 2nd COVID-19 diagnostic test.

5.  Notice for users of facility partnered with Ewha

    -    Write down the following university address when going through immigration and passport control at the Incheon Airport: 52, Ewhayeodae-gil, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul 03760

    -   When taking first COVID-19 diagnostic test at the Seodaemun Health Center, provide the address of the self-quarantine hotel (the hotel address will be sent via email after payment)
