Running Man Attracts Sought-after Male Stars of 2013 to Ewha Welcome Center
(Who will be named hottest guy at Ewha, the world’s biggest women’s university?)

The shooting crew and cast of Running Man, one of the most popular Korean TV shows, showed up at the Ewha campus on November 26, 2013. The special episode, entitled “Show with the Hottest Guys” was designed to involve Ewha students as extra contestants, addition to the cast of Running Man.

Before coming with their huge cameras, the Running Man team held a poll of Ewha students in the Ewha-POSCO Building, asking them to vote on the male star they most wanted to go out with. Some of the stars receiving votes – Chang Kiha (singer), Lee Juck (singer), Jeon Hyeonmu (TV host), Kim Kwang-kyu (actor), and UV’s Muzie (singer) – took part in the shooting as guests, given the task of combing the campus to find 11 Ewha students with each different rare family name and bringing them to Ewha Welcome Center. As the students, who lined up in the Welcome Center, disclosed their name one by one, the atmosphere became more and more highly charged among the guests and regular cast. It turned out, luckily and surprisingly, that each student had a different rare family name such as Na, Ji, Yuk, and Jegal, giving the contestants complete success in the day’s race. What’s more, each of the students had a different major, including Architecture, Nursing Science, and Dance.

When the race was over, the Running Man crews made some memorable time together, taking pictures with the students one by one in a clockwise rotation. During the entire shooting, Ewha students and the stars had a time full of laughter and excitement, working in perfect, friendly harmony.

Ewha students were absolutely dumbfounded when the Running Man team suddenly appeared at the Ewha campus, but the unexpected event brought joy and entertainment, which, in turn, would leave fond, indelible memories for them. The special episode shot on the beautiful Ewha campus, including the Ewha Campus Complex (ECC) and the Ewha Welcome Center, was broadcast on December 15, 2013. Ewha students who had watched the program expressed pride in their university via Facebook: “Ewha is as terrific place a place as I thought,” wrote one. “That caps it all!” wrote another.
