Abstract:
Collective coherent motions such as the aggregation of bacteria, flocking of birds, swarming of fish and herding of sheep are often observed in our biological complex systems. In this talk, I will discuss how to model such collective behavior via ODE and PDE dynamical systems and show how these mathematical modeling can be used in clustering problems arising from sociology and economics.
