Abstract

The article discusses the development of a worldwide campaign to check the prevalent practice of ageism or prejudice and discrimination based on age as of 2018. Topics covered include ageism's negative impact on participation in society, health, and longevity, its imposition of barriers on developing good health policies, and the possible changing of social attitudes on age and ageing. Also noted are questions the World Health Organization (WHO) should answer on the issue.
